Flat Roofs Edgerton

This project addressed a complex leaking issue caused by structural sagging and water retention on an aging lead roof. Rather than a temporary patch, we implemented a structural over-boarding solution designed to permanently correct the roof’s fall and drainage.

Technical Scope of Work:

  • Structural Framing: We engineered and installed a bespoke internal timber framework over the existing lead surface. This frame was precision-leveled to create a consistent pitch, resolving the structural “dips” found in the original roof.

  • Over-Boarding: The new frame was topped with high-grade roofing boards, creating a solid, uniform substrate. This elevated surface provides a clean platform for the final waterproof layer while reinforcing the overall area.

  • Drainage Correction: By altering the roof’s geometry, we successfully eliminated water pooling—the primary cause of the previous leaks.

  • Internal Gutter Integration: We fitted a dedicated internal gutter system specifically to manage the new runoff. This ensures that rainwater is channeled efficiently away from the property, providing a long-term, leak-free solution.

Project Outcomes:

  • Zero Pooling: The new pitch ensures that water cannot sit on the surface, preventing the degradation of materials.

  • Enhanced Integrity: The internal frame adds significant strength to the roof structure without the need for a full, invasive tear-down.

  • Optimized Water Management: The custom guttering provides a controlled path for heavy rainfall, protecting the interior of the property.
