This project involved a comprehensive structural and aesthetic renovation of a residential property in Huddersfield, focusing on long-term weatherproofing and thermal efficiency. Our team executed a full-scale overhaul to address significant timber decay and modernize the building’s exterior envelope.
Key Project Features
Dormer Reconstruction and Recladding We identified extensive rot within the existing dormers, necessitating a complete structural restoration. The units were stripped back and fully recladded with high-grade, durable materials to ensure a watertight finish and a refreshed architectural profile.
Specialized Rendering and Insulation To enhance the thermal performance of the home, we installed a premium Baumit rendering system on the gable end. This was integrated with high-performance insulation, significantly reducing heat loss and providing a sleek, breathable, and crack-resistant finish.
EPDM Rubber Roofing System The rear dormer was upgraded with a new EPDM rubber roofing membrane. Renowned for its exceptional lifespan and resistance to UV radiation and extreme weather, this seamless system provides a reliable, low-maintenance solution for flat roofing areas.
Masonry and Structural Refinements Precision-cut coping stones were supplied and expertly fitted to provide a protective barrier for the wall tops. Additionally, we safely dismantled and removed a redundant chimney stack, eliminating potential leak points and streamlining the roofline.
Benefits of the Overhaul
By combining traditional masonry work with modern materials like EPDM and Baumit systems, this renovation has not only restored the structural integrity of the roof but also significantly improved the property’s curb appeal and energy rating. The result is a resilient, contemporary exterior designed to withstand the Yorkshire climate for decades to come.
