Project Overview
This project in Edgerton involved the complete strip-and-replace of an aging garage roof. The original Rosemary tiles had reached the end of their lifespan and were no longer providing adequate protection. Our mission was to modernize the structure with a high-performance, low-maintenance roofing system.
The Transformation Process
Complete Tear-Off: We began by stripping the existing Rosemary tiles and old timber battens. All debris was professionally removed and disposed of, leaving a clean structural base for the new installation.
Underlay & Battening: We upgraded the internal protection with a premium breathable membrane, allowing for superior airflow while maintaining a 100% watertight seal. This was followed by the installation of heavy-duty 2×1 treated timber lath battens, providing a perfectly level and secure foundation.
Marley Concrete Tile Installation: The roof was finished with interlocking concrete Marley tiles. These tiles are specifically engineered for superior weather shedding and long-term durability, offering a much more robust solution than the previous small-format tiles.
Guttering Upgrade: To complement the new roof, we are replacing the entire drainage system with profiled UPVC guttering. This high-capacity profile ensures that even during heavy West Yorkshire downpours, rainwater is efficiently channeled away from the garage foundations.
The Result
A total structural and aesthetic upgrade. The new Marley tiles and profiled guttering have transformed this Edgerton garage from an aging liability into a modern, maintenance-free asset that will protect the property for decades.
