Longden Avenue, Huddersfield

This project involved a complete overhaul of the property’s roofing system, transitioning from traditional materials to high-performance, contemporary solutions. The scope of work focused on enhancing structural integrity, weatherproofing, and curb appeal through the following upgrades:

  • Tile Replacement: Stripped the original, weathered Rosemary tiles and replaced them with Marley Modern interlocking concrete tiles. These provide a sleek, slate-like aesthetic with the superior durability and interlocking security of modern concrete.

  • Roofline Restoration: Installed all-new fascias, soffits, and guttering. This high-capacity rainwater system ensures efficient drainage while providing a clean, maintenance-free finish to the eaves.

  • Specialist Flat Roofing: Applied a new GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) fiberglass system to the bay window roof. This creates a seamless, cold-applied waterproof membrane that is incredibly resilient against leaks and UV degradation.

  • Advanced Finishing Systems: Integrated a dry ridge and dry verge system. By moving away from traditional mortar, which can crack and perish over time, these mechanical fixings offer a more secure, ventilated, and aesthetically uniform finish that withstands extreme weather conditions.

Key Benefits of This Upgrade

  • Longevity: The combination of Marley Modern tiles and GRP roofing provides decades of protection.

  • Low Maintenance: The dry fix systems and uPVC rooflines eliminate the need for future pointing or painting.

  • Modern Aesthetics: The transition from clay tiles to a smooth grey profile significantly modernizes the property’s exterior.
